Exercises.
You are responsible for definition and design of a knowledge management (KM) system for your company. In connection with this work there are a number of relevant questions to pose: (you could preferably use your present project case as an example).
- Sketch possible usage and expansion of the proposed KM system
- Implications on organisation, work routines, knowledge management, and information containers (old and new) caused by system introduction.
- What functions in the organisation do you mean can be enhanced and what new functions might be introduced?
- Explain some of the critical success factors your foresee during system introduction.
- What ICT tools do you have access to, to support system development.
- Are there dedicated systems for knowledge Management?
If so describe these systems.
- Sketch on KM system development project content, outcome and participants/competencies (data and knowledge capture, prototype development, stepwise implementation of the KM system etc.)
- What systems (from functional requirements) should the KM-system contain?
- What data models (knowledge representations) for system and sub-systems do you propose for implementian in the KM-system?
- Specify routines for information storage and access for different users groups within the company.
- Explain the properties, implementation and usage of different possible knowledge representations that can be used in the KM system.
- How can the interoperability between the company KM sub systems and external systems be supported?
